Director Ashwin Saravanan who made a remarkable debut with Nayanthara starrer Maya has titled his second project as Iravaakaalam. The movie has got S.J.Surya in the lead role opposite Shivada.
Maya had Nayanthara in the lead role while Aari played a pivotal role. Maya was a first of its kind horror movie having a female lead. Maya was declared a blockbuster after it became successful both critically and commercially. After the success of Maya, there were a lot of speculations regarding the making of his next movie.
Titled as Iravaakaaalam the movie is said to be a romantic thriller. S.J.Surya was last seen in Karthik Subburaj’s Iraivi and has got Nenjam Marapathillai from director Selvaraghavan awaiting release. The movie is being funded by Murali of Thenandal Films under a new banner Thenandal Studios Limited.
Shivada who was critically acclaimed for her role in the recently released Adhe Kangal (where she played the antagonist) will be seen opposite S.J.Surya in this ambitious flick. Shivada was much appreciated for her acting prowess in movies like Nedunchaalai and Zero, both of which had altogether different shades of character. After having received great appreciation for her acting, she was choosy about her scripts after that. Adhe Kangal fell just in place. She has acted in Malayalam films too.
Wamiqa Gabbi who played the female lead in Maalai Nerathu Mayakkam will be seen in a pivotal role in the film.
Ron Ethan Yohann who composed music for the film Maaya will also be taking care of the music for Iravaakaalam as well. Music of Maaya was widely appreciated by the critics and the movie was received well by the audience.
