From the World of John Wick: Ballerina (2025) Final Trailer – Ana de Armas, Keanu Reeves
Ballerina, the John Wick spinoff, was first revealed by Lionsgate in 2017 and was set on the fast track to production in 2019. The track proved to be somewhat uneven. The movie was rescheduled from its original June 2024 release date to this year. Chad Stahelski, co-director of John Wick, took over the entire franchise in the interim and worked for two weeks on extra photography to improve the action scenes directed by Len Wiseman (Live Free or Die Hard).
A portion of that extravaganza can be seen in the film's final trailer, which will be released on June 6. Between the events of John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum and John Wick: Chapter 4, it highlights the assassin vs assassin struggle between Eve (Ana de Armas) and John Wick (Keanu Reeves). In the battles, Eve, who receives her training at the Ruska Roma dance school Wick visited in Parabellum, defends herself from a cleaver attack, uses an ice pick and flamethrower, and runs a man through with a sword.
Norman Reedus, who warns Eve that the Continental Hotel is being besieged, and Winston Scott (Ian McShane), the building's owner, make brief appearances. The teaser also includes an appearance by Lance Reddick's character, Charon, the concierge of the Continental, who passed away in 2023, further demonstrating how long this movie has been in development.
With Stahelski at the helm the entire time, hopefully the path to the recently revealed John Wick 5 will be a little quicker and more seamless.
