A wrecked college student named Shantanu (Sunny Singh) longs for "Sacchhi Mohabbat" in his life. His life takes an unsettling turn on Valentine's Day when he sobs and tries suicide in front of a "Virgin tree," a supernatural tree that is thought to bestow genuine love.
In the meantime, a ghostly presence is connected to another college student's attempt to k**l himself. The suspicion is heightened by the fact that the college has previously experienced similar situations. At this point, the college administration turns to a paranormal specialist named Baba (Sanjay Dutt), who happens to be a former student, for assistance.
In Bollywood, horror-comedies are among the most popular genres. The audience will be entertained if the movie contains some well-written meta references. Is that sufficient, though? Let's talk about that in the next section of the review.
The movie makes a concerted effort to amuse viewers, but instead it only serves to increase their level of boredom with each new scene. The writing is a mess, if the story isn't already awful enough. The writers, Sidhaant Sachdev and Vankush Arora, apparently hurried to finish the screenplay writing process since they only intended to concentrate on meta references, which led to a jumble of haphazardly connected, unfinished sequences.
The second half improves marginally, but the first half lacks any scenes that are sufficiently amusing. That doesn't improve the movie's overall impact, though. BGM is humorous and seems to have been taken directly from an Instagram reel. Although some of the meta-referenced language is wonderfully crafted, it doesn't make you chuckle since the entire movie is so boring. The music simply serves to highlight the movie's flaws.
Sidhaant Sachdev hasn't done the horror-comedy genre justice as a director. The only emphasis is on visual effects and humour, and the movie falls short in both areas. You can't help but consider about the things that could have been better as you leave the theatre after seeing the movie.
